What is the biggest challenge facing leaders today?
Transparency. Information is widely available these days and anyone can pretty much Google search, Wikipedia or find out news from their networks about anything.
Telling the truths can sometimes frustrate people and I’ve personally experienced it when I had to break not so good news to my employees. That said, not everyone is understand the big picture from the perspective that decisions are being made. Hence, you must accept that people will be frustrated and gossips / rumors will spread like wild fire behind the scenes. You can’t control what other’s feel or think about you but can control how you respond, behave and react.
In my case, not everyone will accept your decision or call, especially when you are being perceived as a young (albeit inexperienced) leader.
What is the difference between a leader and manager?
A leader inspires. A manager just manages. By this definition, anyone can be a leader
