Title: Who Cares for the Leader?
Mark has taught in secondary schools in England for more than 30 years, 10 of which in Senior Leadership; he is an Ofsted rated Outstanding Leader. He has been a Senior Lecturer, Educational Leadership and Management, at the University of Gloucestershire and a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton both in England. He has a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Birmingham, UK and has published in peer reviewed journals and given presentations at international conferences. His recent published works include, Principals of Academy ‘Chain’ schools in England: autonomous leaders or sponsor conduits? in International Studies in Educational Administration, (2016) and Ethos and Vision Realization in Sponsored Academy Schools in Management in Education, (2015). Mark is an Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus where he is involved in the World Bank-funded Bangladesh College Education Development Project, working with college principals from Bangladesh. This Project aims to strengthen the strategic planning and management capacity of the college education subsector in Bangladesh and to improve the teaching and learning environment of participating colleges.
