Juncheng Yang is a research associate at the MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab, where he is currently leading a research project that measures the economic value of street-level greenery in Manhattan, New York City. Juncheng is also a research member of the MIT Future Urban Collectives Lab (with Rafi Segal A+U), where he led a strategic planning project for a high-profile industry park in Shanghai, China. He is interested in exploring the potential links between urban design, local economic development, and real estate. Before coming to MIT, Juncheng obtained his B.Arch, magna cum laude and with Distinction in Creative Works and Research from Rice University, a MSc. in Regional and Urban Planning Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he received the Royal Geographical Society IBG research fund, and a Master of Science in Urbanism from MIT. Besides, Juncheng Yang worked at several architectural and urban planning offices, including GHD, SURV, WW Architecture, and OMA.
