Muhamed has a broad experience in fundamental Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunication, ICT, corporate strategies and corporate finance.

Muhamed had started his career as an Assistant Engineer in Floppy Disk Company and was employed as Product Engineer in hard disk drive company (Quantum Peripherals) where he was leading a product transfer from various Quantum R&D facilities and manufacturing facilities, covering San Jose California to Japan. Muhamed was involved in business development where he led a business development department in BCM Electronics and in a contract manufacturing department in Agilent Technologies where he managed business in South Asia countries which include Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Philippines and Singapore.

Muhamed was involved in telecommunication and system integration when he led Mutiara.com Sdn Bhd as CEO (30% Telekom Malaysia and 70% Ministry of Finance Malaysia). He was involved in projects such as GITN, School Net and successfully deployed the first metro Internet in Karachi Pakistan.

He also led Mutiara Smart Computing Sdn Bhd (100% shareholding by Ministry of Finance Malaysia) involving design & assembly of PCs and laptops. Muhamed managed to diversify the company from focusing only in government contracts; by introducing secure computing and mobile computing solutions to schools.

Muhamed currently heads PSDC (Penang Skills Development Centre) which involve in addressing skill mismatch of graduates and workforce transformation not only in Penang but overall in whole of Malaysia.

Muhamed had been appointed as an ICT advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2007 to 2010 whereby he led the study of ICT penetration into SMEs/SMIs in Kazakhstan and provided advice on ICT policies in education
