Riyaz Ahamed is a lecturer in the Faculty of Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics at International University of Malaya-Wales. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at University of Malaya. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science in 2008 from Sathyabama University and a Master of Software Engineering in 2013 from University of Malaya.
Riyaz Ahamed has conducted hands-on workshops in data science, machine learning and R programming at various level. Among the participants comprises of researchers, academician, as well as PhD and Masters’ students from various departments such as computer science, finance, accounts, engineering, economics, ocean and medical science etc.
Riyaz Ahamed was a software engineer, working for clients such as Airbus, Liebherr, Pratt & Whitney prior to his journey into education industry as academician. To date, he has 7 years of teaching experience for diploma, degree and masters programs in various universities in Malaysia. He has supervised more than 50 students on undergraduate final year projects in FTMS College in collaboration with University of East London and Leeds Beckett University.
Some of the selected domain of supervised projects were Arduino based smart home system, data analytics & storage on google cloud, real time analytics for big data in healthcare, facial recognition for the security system and other research project on IOT connected with wearable devices.
Riyaz Ahamed is active in research. As academician as well as PhD candidate, his current research focuses on real time big data analytics on cyber security and machine learning.
